3 Questions to Ask Before You Select a Showing Service

Couple with real estate agent viewing new property

Once we learned that ShowingTime would lose its independence, the real estate industry responded loud and clear that MLSs, brokers and agents wanted more options for scheduling showings.

At Delta Media Group, we even took a poll to gauge the level of interest in a new, full-featured, independent showing platform. Every single respondent told us to build one.

Delta was in the perfect position to do just that. After all, we had a showing solution that was 90% complete, and after nearly three decades, our MLS footprint covers 97% of all property listings in the U.S.

We’ve identified three major questions brokers should ask showing solution providers in order to determine their level of industry understanding and support.

1. Is your showing service solution truly independent?
When owned by a public company that answers to the demands of shareholders with a need to hit quarterly financial benchmarks, you are not independent. Likewise, when you depend on venture capital dollars, you are not independent. Delta Media Group is 100% family-owned and -operated. Not a single dime has come from outside investors.

With the launch of Local Showings, we have gone so far as to guarantee in our contracts with MLSs and large brokerages that Delta Media will not be sold.

2. Do you have MLS contracts in place that give you a nationwide footprint?
It takes years to build relationships with MLSs and top brokerages. We know that from experience because we have been there and done that.

Several startups that have jumped into the showing space approached us about their solutions. They were lacking—and are still lacking—our established relationships and signed contracts with hundreds of MLSs nationwide.

It takes a massive capability to scale to support a nationwide service. We not only have the in-house technology with Local Showings and DeltaNET, but we also founded a redundant data center, one of the largest in Ohio, from our headquarters in Canton.

3. Is there a standalone option, or do we have to buy your entire solution?
The industry desperately wants a standalone solution. With the launch of our Local Showings app, we have done just that.

Yes, we fully integrated Local Showings into our DeltaNET all-in-one platform for current clients. All we have to do for them is flip a switch. We also invented an incredibly robust app for clients who needed a standalone solution. It’s available in the App Store and Google Play. You shouldn’t have to agree to offer everything to get the one thing your members or agents need.

In less than 80 days, we finalized and deployed Local Showings by Delta Media to give customers not only what they want, but what they deserve.
