RISMEDIA, March 5, 2007-(Part 1 of 5)-The Real Estate Apprentice Foundation announced that Anna Northcutt, a former FBI Agent and Cindy Newman, a former police officer, are currently locked in battle over a $70,000 Grand Prize Grant consisting of real estate fast track products and services. However, unlike many battles, this is a friendly one without violence.
Northcutt works as a rookie agent for Prudential Realty Center in Chattanooga, Tennessee and Newman is a rookie agent with Prudential Fox and Roach in Haverford, Pennsylvania. Both Northcutt and Newman are the first and second of 10 finalists chosen from almost 2,000 applicants in the Real Estate Apprentice Grant Competition for Season V. Regardless of whether they move forward to receive the Grand Prize, both Northcutt and Newman are guaranteed minimum grants valued at $7,000 each, based on their placement in the Top 10 category. These two finalists received their respective licensing courses from Tennessee Real Estate School, a RealtyU® Real Estate School located in Chattanooga, Tennessee and Tri-State Real Estate School, also a RealtyU School, located in Conshohocken, Pennsylvania.
Anna Northcutt
Anna Northcutt joined Prudential Realty Center after a career in federal law enforcement and corporate security. Prior to beginning her real estate career she served as a Special Agent in the FBI and later as an executive in several national companies. She has written for national publications, authored a book on selecting safe childcare and brings to her real estate career the reputation of being a person of integrity with a willingness to provide extraordinary service. She has lived throughout the United States and chose to live and work in Chattanooga, Tennessee, which she describes as the "greatest place to live".
"My professional life began during the early 70's just as women were entering non-traditional professions such as law enforcement and the military," Northcutt says. "Often I was the first or only woman in a class or organization, which put me into a situation of facing obstacles from individuals and institutions. I learned not to give up and to keep striving to do my personal best, despite set backs and naysayers," she added.
Cindy Newman
Prior to entering the real estate profession Cindy Newman was a police officer for 23 years. She spent a short amount of time as a road patrol officer, however the bulk of her career was spent working with at-risk and disadvantaged youth within the elementary/middle/high school settings. Newman was a teacher, counselor, mentor and friend to students of all ages/races and ethnicities. Her ability to connect and really make a difference in young peoples' lives was something very important and fulfilling to her personally. "I knew I couldn't save them all, but I know my compassion and involvement saved quite a few," Newman says.
As a police officer she received hundreds of hours of training that involved conflict resolution, crisis management, verbal judo and other courses that broadened her ability to function at high levels during stressful and crisis situations. According to Newman she was highly trained in conflict management and resolution, which has carried over quite readily into her personal life. She is sure that will be a great asset in her new profession – real estate.
