Prudential Announces Two New Strategic Alliances

March 18, 2008, 3 pm
Reading Time: 3 mins read

RISMEDIA, March 19, 2008-Prudential Real Estate Affiliates, Inc., a Prudential Financial, Inc. company, announced its feed of for-sale property listings to FrontDoor.com and that the company has entered into a marketing agreement with real estate search engine Trulia, Inc.

Prudential Real Estate President Laurie Keenan made the announcement to brokers and sales professionals at the company’s annual Sales Convention in New Orleans, as she flipped the switch enabling more than 140,000 listings to be displayed on FrontDoor.com, a real estate website powered by the popular cable television network HGTV.

“We are very pleased to announce our combined online and offline media alliance with Scripps Networks, which owns both FrontDoor.com and HGTV,” says Keenan. “Though only launched late last year, consumers are increasingly looking to FrontDoor.com for access to property listings and a wide variety of useful real estate information, and the growth of HGTV’s loyal following is impressive. Overall, Scripps Networks has assembled a very attractive targeted audience of homeowners and Prudential Real Estate will be there and ready to assist when this audience has the need to buy or sell real estate.”

As part of the agreement, Prudential Real Estate has secured targeted media sponsorships, listing-branding opportunities and banner display advertising. This alliance will allow for the cross-promotion of Prudential Real Estate’s listings including innovative video on HGTV.com, and on-air Prudential Real Estate commercials on HGTV.

Vikki Neil, vice president of real estate at Scripps Networks Interactive, commented, “We’re very excited about our alliance with one of the strongest and most trusted brands in real estate, Prudential Real Estate. This multi-faceted media alliance will open many doors for new interactive marketing opportunities for both of our companies.”

“By design this agreement will serve to increase Prudential Real Estate’s online presence, where the majority of home buyers now begin their home searches,” Keenan added.

FrontDoor.com is an online real estate listing service powered by HGTV, the No.1 source for home-related media content. The site currently offers more than 1.5 million listings of homes for sale and partners with top real estate brokerages throughout the U.S. In addition to providing users with the latest residential for sale property listings, FrontDoor houses expert HGTV advice and videos along with original Web series and a comprehensive library of engaging, interactive tools, guides and information.

The award-winning websites created and supported by Scripps Networks Interactive have attracted a monthly average of 15.4 million unique visitors and are category leaders in the food, home and living space online. The Scripps Networks Interactive properties — websites HGTV.com, FoodNetwork.com, DIYnetwork.com, FineLiving.com, GACTV.com, Recipezaar.com, and the newest FrontDoor.com — are not only extensions of Scripps Networks leading lifestyle brands, providing users programming information and additional instructional content, but also exciting destinations for original content, engaging video and powerful interactive tools.

What’s more, continuing in other company news, starting in March, Prudential Real Estate will supply a feed of its network’s approximately 140,000 residential listings to Trulia, giving its affiliate offices a dominant presence in their respective markets.

Prudential Real Estate plans to soon have its listings appear as “Featured Listings” in the top three search results when consumers search for homes with matching criteria, and for each listing to include Prudential branding. According to the company, Prudential Real Estate also plans to display nationwide banner advertisements on Trulia.com intended to promote the Prudential Real Estate brand and to drive consumer traffic to the company’s website, prudential.com. In addition, individual Prudential Real Estate sales professionals can also elect to work with Trulia to participate in the Trulia Voices community and to attach custom contact information to their listings, giving Trulia users one-click access to sales professionals who represent the properties that interest them most.

“We’re excited to announce our alliance with Trulia, one of the fastest-growing real estate search sites on the Internet,” said Laurie Keenan, president, Prudential Real Estate Affiliates, Inc. “It’s impressive that comScore results show Trulia as joining other established brand names online such as Realtor.com and Yahoo! Real Estate as a Top 10 real estate website. Trulia attracts millions of unique visitors each month to its site and it’s a great place to showcase our listings.”

“We are thrilled that this media alliance with Prudential Real Estate will help to connect serious home buyers and sellers on Trulia to Prudential listings and sales professionals nationwide,” said Sami Inkinen, Trulia co-founder and chief operating officer.
