In 2025, Megan McFarlane advanced bold, first-of-their-kind initiatives that positioned the New Mexico Multiple Listing Service as a national leader in innovation, transparency and member engagement. An 18-year MLS industry veteran, McFarlane spearheaded several groundbreaking programs designed to better serve brokers, consumers and the industry at large.
Under her leadership, New Mexico MLS became the first in the nation to require floor plans on every listing, raising the standard for listing accuracy, consumer clarity and informed decision-making. New Mexico MLS was also the first in the nation to host a Property Description Contest, encouraging higher-quality listing content and reinforcing the importance of thoughtful, consumer-focused marketing.
McFarlane further expanded MLS collaboration and education by creating the first-ever Mini Virtual MLS Summit, inviting more than 35,000 MLS members, brokers, industry leaders and partners nationwide to engage in timely discussions around evolving industry challenges. Building on that success, the initiative grew to include both focused mini-summits and a broader annual virtual event, strengthening dialogue and cooperation across MLS organizations.
“Behind every listing is a broker, a family, an individual or a dream, and being part of the process that brings them closer to that goal means a lot to me,” says McFarlane. “It feels good to know that my efforts in the MLS industry, doesn’t just support real estate professionals, but it also play a small role in the bigger picture of helping people build their future.”
