Real Estate Leaders to Converge on Houston to Shape the Future of MLS Public Websites

RISMEDIA, April 11, 2011—Some of real estate’s most innovative and respected thought leaders will gather in Houston this summer to chart the future of MLS public websites connecting REALTORS® and Internet consumers when the Houston Association of REALTORS® (HAR) presents MLS Cloud 2011 on June 2-3 at the Post Oak Hilton Hotel.

Speakers at this industry conference are operators of large and small MLSs around the country that provide public websites, who have agreed to share their personal keys to effectively connect REALTORS® to today’s Internet consumers. This group of national experts will create the ultimate “must-do” checklist for public-facing website design and high performance.

Among the organizations represented at MLS Cloud 2011 are: Scripps Networks, REALTOR.com, WAV Group, Realogy, RE/MAX, Keller Williams Realty, National Association of REALTORS® (NAR), MRIS, MLSListings and many more.

“It makes little sense to reinvent the wheel when others already know what works and what doesn’t when it comes to lead generation through the MLS public website,” said HAR President and CEO Bob Hale. “MLS Cloud 2011 is the place to network with other influential MLS and real estate industry leaders, while focusing on what will keep your MLS relevant in the future.”

MLS Cloud 2011 program highlights include an in-depth look at: the global consumer “big picture”; statistics demonstrating that real estate consumers are increasingly migrating to non-REALTOR® Internet portals and explain the attraction; the question of public MLS lead generation relevancy in a fast-moving marketplace; the many evolving opportunities and challenges for the MLS public website.

“Conference participants will have an opportunity to learn about the latest research concerning changing consumer behavior and discover what cutting-edge real estate portals and franchises are doing to attract consumers,” said Carlos P. Bujosa, HAR Chairman and VP at Transwestern. Bujosa will participate in a panel discussion with representatives of REALTOR.com and NAR examining the role of commercial real estate in MLS public websites.

“Discussion will also focus on new ideas about engaging consumers, the REALTOR®-consumer dynamic and ways to build stronger relationships among the participating MLSs,” added Bujosa.
