Ron Croushore, owner of Pittsburgh-based Prudential Preferred Realty, was named the first-ever recipient of RISMedia’s Real Estate Leadership Award, sponsored by Citi. Croushore accepted the award at RISMedia’s 16th Annual Power Broker Dinner on November 11, part of RISMedia’s “Power Broker Weekend.” The event took place in Anaheim, California, in conjunction with the REALTORS® Conference & Expo.

The RISMedia Real Estate Leadership Award is a newly created honor designed to recognize a member of the real estate community who embraces innovation and exercises resilience to blaze new paths to success for real estate professionals and consumers alike.

“The individuals who were nominated for this award are a virtual who’s who of some of the most pioneering, innovative professionals in this industry,” said John Featherston, publisher and CEO of RISMedia. “We’re thrilled to have Ron Croushore as our first-ever recipient of the Real Estate Leadership Award. He embraces the entrepreneurial spirit and possesses leadership qualities that elevate the real estate profession.”

“I am honored to be recognized as an industry innovator,” said Croushore. “I strive to lead our professional team at Prudential Preferred Realty through any challenges they might face and encourage them to provide personalized service and guide their clients through every step of the real estate process.”

Croushore earned his Pennsylvania real estate sales license in 1973 and his broker’s license in 1976. He soon advanced through the ranks of Hammill-Quinlan Realty in Pittsburgh to become the president and broker of record of the company that purchased it—Merrill-Lynch Realty. In 1991 he became the owner and CEO of Prudential Preferred Realty, the company that purchased Merrill-Lynch, in Pittsburgh, which now operates 17 service areas in Southwestern Pennsylvania. Prudential Preferred Realty employs 120 employees and more than 600 residential sales associates in Southwestern Pennsylvania.

Croushore also serves as cofounder and president of other affiliate companies in Pittsburgh, including: Pennsylvania Preferred Mortgage Company; Preferred Settlement Services, Inc.; Referral Associates of Pennsylvania; Preferred Insurance Agency; Real Estate Educators; and Preferred Home Services.

Blair Allan, senior vice president for Retail Partnership Sales for Citi, presented Croushore with the award during RISMedia’s Power Broker Dinner, held at the Anaheim Marriott. The Power Broker Dinner honors the industry’s top brokers, as determined by the results of RISMedia’s Annual Power Broker Report & Survey.
