Century 21 Real Estate LLC recently recognized CENTURY 21 Realty Alliance with the 2013 CENTURY 21® Marsh Fisher Diversity Award. Orhan Tolu, broker/owner of CENTURY 21 Realty Alliance, accepted the Award on behalf of his team at the CENTURY 21 Global Conference in Las Vegas, NV earlier this month.
Established in 1999, the Marsh Fisher Diversity Award is presented annually to an independent CENTURY 21 franchise office for its extraordinary commitment to cultural diversity and improving minority homeownership.
Having moved to the U.S. from Turkey at age 17 as an exchange student, Tolu began in real estate more than 30 years ago. From the early days of CENTURY 21 Realty Alliance, Tolu and his team have embraced diversity as an important initiative. Of the brokerage’s more than 200 affiliated agents, 75 percent represent a minority group in this country and 85 percent are multilingual. In total, the CENTURY 21 Realty Alliance team speaks 39 languages.

Throughout the year, Tolu and his team host events to engage members of specific nationalities in its area. For example, they offer seminars for Spanish-speaking first time home buyers and real estate licensing classes that are taught in Chinese. The company also employs multilingual marketing initiatives, advertising in Asian publications and producing a television commercial in Chinese. In addition to engaging with potential home buyers and sellers, Tolu’s team also aims to recruit new agents from all backgrounds.
