Brown Harris Stevens

In 2023, Brown Harris Stevens turned 150 years old. CEO Bess Freedman and her team marked the occasion with a company-wide birthday party and a new branding campaign. In addition, Freedman was elected to Fordham Real Estate Institute’s Advisory Counsel and launched a series of talks with influential leaders, including Barbara Corcoran.

Freedman led the company to annual sales of almost $11 billion in 2023. She also launched two new brand campaigns; increased agent recruitment; introduced Curate by BHS, a home-staging service with no upfront cost; and worked with a bridge loan program to help clients who want to buy a new home before their previous property has been sold.

“I truly believe helping other people is my calling, and I get to do that in real estate. Before brokerage, I was an attorney who fought for those who did not have a voice. Today, I get to use the same skills as an advocate for my agents and our clients,” says Freedman.
