Legacy Real Estate & Associates

Bill Aboumrad is the broker/owner of Legacy Real Estate & Associates in Freemont, Calif. The firm, which has six offices serving Alameda County and the heart of Silicon Valley, is the largest independently owned brokerage in Alameda County by sales and transaction volume.

In 2019, the company focused on hiring licensees right out of school to lower the average age, teach new people the real estate business and re-energize veterans. Aboumrad says, “I look for the quality of the individual. Their quality of business is less important to me than their quality as a person.”

Legacy Real Estate & Associates has over 300 agents, most of whom have been with the firm for about 16 years. Aboumrad attributes that fact to the company’s culture. While Legacy is large in terms of sales volume, it has a boutique culture built around personal relationships. Aboumrad encourages agents to call him any time with a question or a problem that needs to be addressed immediately.

Aboumrad grew up in a real estate family. He followed his father’s advice and obtained a real estate license right after high school. Aboumrad earned a law degree and worked in that field for a few years before becoming a full-time REALTOR® in 1987.

Aboumrad is dedicated to serving others, particularly children and families. He is heavily involved in the Little League World Series and works year-round to mow the grass at the field in Livermore, Calif., to prepare for Intermediate Division games.
