Bob Portale says that he “wears many hats” as a real estate leader, and one that kept him busy last year was his involvement at the Worldwide Employee Relocation Council (WERC).

In 2024, Portale was a member of the WERC ad hoc committee assigned to track and prepare potential industry changes brought about by the NAR settlement. He cites his background in both running a brokerage and in talent mobility (including his attainment of the GMS-T for Talent Management certification). These dual skills helped him assess impact across multiple industry verticals and become an advisor to WERC on these issues, down to tracking jurisdiction-specific actions.

“Workforce mobility continues to be redefined, but it has always been more than just moving from one place to another; it’s about starting new chapters and embracing new opportunities,” says Portale. “Knowing that our team plays a crucial role in making these transitions smoother and less stressful for our clients is incredibly fulfilling.”
