Under Oppler’s leadership, NAR has introduced a series of new initiatives aimed at improving the industry. The NAR Spire program focuses on developing mentor/mentee relationships in underserved markets and building generational wealth. Oppler believes NAR’s C5 initiative will become the leading commercial industry event in New York City for commercial practitioners, economic development agencies and investors.
Oppler has focused on diversity, equity, and inclusion since he took the role of president. On his first day, he apologized for NAR’s position on fair housing. Oppler and his team have challenged all of the company’s leaders and directors to learn more through the Fairhaven program, Implicit Bias video and At Home with Diversity certification. Oppler has also been a leader on private property rights (eviction moratorium) and the Department of Justice’s investigation into the real estate industry.
Oppler says he is proud of “leading both my company and the REALTOR® organization and being a better person, husband and father.”
