Christie's International Real Estate Sereno

Chris Trapani co-founded Sereno with his lifetime best friend, Ryan Iwanaga, in 2006. In 2022, Sereno combined forces with @properties in Chicago, and through this partnership has become a partner in Christie’s International Real Estate. The firm is now Christie’s International Real Estate Sereno.

Over the past 16 years, Sereno has grown organically to 18 locations and 625 REALTORS®. The company has established itself as the No. 1 independent brokerage in Northern California and is a consistent community supporter through its 1% for Good Charitable Foundation, which has donated nearly $6 million to-date to hundreds of local charities. The company has been recognized as one of the top 30 corporate givers by the Silicon Valley Business Journal.

For 12 consecutive years, Sereno has been named by Bay Area News Group as one of the Best Places to Work, and in 2022, the firm was recognized as the No. 1 best place to work throughout five counties in the large company category.

Trapani graduated from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in 1990 and attended the Wharton School of Business’ CEO Leadership course in 2004. He began his real estate sales career in 1990, and in 2004, at the age of 37, became Coldwell Banker/NRT’s youngest president in the nation. Prior to launching Sereno, Trapani was the president and COO of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage (NRT) in Silicon Valley overseeing 17 offices and more than 1,400 REALTORS®.

Trapani is a member of Los Gatos Rotary, Saratoga Federated Church and also serves as chair of Cal Poly San Luis Obispo’s President’s Council of Advisors.

“From the onset of our founding, we have focused on building intentionally through quality hiring, thoughtful growth and community mindedness,” says Trapani.  “People matter. Communities matter. And our purpose in turn matters as long as we remain focused on those two essential truths.”
