Jim McKinnies, broker/owner of McKinnies Realty, Army veteran and Bronze Star recipient, has adopted the slogan: “Real Estate With Purpose.”

McKinnies created Homes for Heroes, Inc., the largest nationwide network of affiliate real estate, mortgage and other specialists committed to helping heroes, including firefighters, EMS, law enforcement, military (active-duty, reserves and veterans), healthcare professionals, and teachers, save on a house. At press time, McKinnies was on track to help more than 150 heroes through the program in 2019.

Homes for Heroes works with over 2,900 real estate and mortgage specialists in all 50 states. The combined savings for real estate agents, loan officers, title companies, home inspectors, and other service providers usually total at least $2,400, much more than the savings possible through some other national programs. Since 2009, Homes for Heroes, Inc., has sold over $4 billion in real estate to heroes and has helped over 32,000 heroes save more than $53 million.

Each time a hero buys or sells a home through the program, a portion of the earnings is donated to the Homes for Heroes Foundation to expand the circle of giving. Over $680,000 has been donated through the foundation. McKinnies also raises money to support a First Responder Awards and Recognition dinner. 

McKinnies has been a volunteer youth pastor for 12 years and now serves as his church’s senior pastor. He is devoted to his wife, Kim, and three children: Andrew, Emma and Anna. “My life consists of a passion for my faith, family, country and profession,” McKinnies says. “I put 100 percent in everything I do.”
