Kay Wilson-Bolton’s story is one of passion, centered on those most in need in her community. After the death of an unsheltered homeless man in her town more than a decade ago, Wilson-Bolton drew on her 30 years of community involvement as a real estate agent to rally people together and make sure this tragedy never happened again.
“Every REALTOR® has shelter in mind with every person we meet,” she says. “Some people need more help than others. I am here for them.”
She opened the Spirit of Santa Paula homeless shelter full time in 2019, where she currently serves as Director along with her real estate responsibilities, and in 2021 she sheltered more than 40 people including 8 young children amid the continued dangers of the pandemic. Spirit of Santa Paula also added two case managers this year along with outreach programs and free shower facilities for anyone who needs them.
