RESPRO

Ken Trepeta became president and executive director of RESPRO® in July of 2015. Prior to joining RESPRO®, Trepeta served as the director of Real Estate Services for the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) for nearly a decade, where he was liaison to senior executives at large real estate firms and their affiliated businesses, as well as NAR’s in-house RESPA expert.

Trepeta recently delivered the presentation, “Inside the Beltway: What’s Happening in Washington and What Matters to Real Estate,” during RISMedia’s Real Estate’s Rocking in the New Year event. Looking at what’s in store for 2022, Trepeta said, “I think the real activity is going to be on the regulatory front. There will be a lot of focus on fair housing and fair lending, all geared toward promoting equity and social justice, trying to right wrongs of the past and deal with disparities in homeownership.”

Prior to joining NAR, Trepeta worked in government affairs for five years as a vice president at both JP Morgan Chase and representing the CEOs of the largest financial services firms in the world at the Financial Services Forum.

Trepeta received his start in government by serving as the deputy director for the Commission on Affordable Housing and Health Facility Needs for Seniors in the 21st Century. He spent five years as counsel for Representative Rick Lazio (R-NY).

With a J.D. from Hofstra University School of Law (1995), Trepeta is a member of the bar in both New York and the District of Columbia.
