Forget Everything You Thought You Knew about Postcards

New marketing technology can send personalized mailers to each name on your mail list

RISMEDIA, April 3, 2007-A leading direct mail company is using a pioneering new technology that takes the phrase, ‘personal marketing' to a whole, new level. The technology being used by Lentz Design takes an addressee's name from a mailing label and places it in the main front image of its mailers, allowing for a greater impact from personalized marketing.

For example, one of the postcard designs shows a curious looking ostrich head against a blue sky. An interesting image, but what really amazes the recipient is the fact that his or her name is written in the clouds above the ostrich's head. "Stan Smith's" postcard might read "Stan" in the clouds. Likewise, his neighbors, the Coopers, could receive a postcard with "Mr. & Mrs. Cooper" or "The Cooper Family" written in the clouds. The reverse side of the postcard is all about the Realtor. It features the agents contact information along with a photo of current listings, just-sold properties or various prospecting messages.

The ostrich scene and the example shown above are just two of 28 different postcards available with this new technology. Other choices include a beach scene where a boy arranges rocks in the sand that spell out the recipient's name. In another, leaves falling from a tree form the name.Other postcards feature eye-catching scenes where birds, clouds, flowers, and other elements are creatively used to spell out the recipient's name.

This new line of postcards is exclusively offered by LentzDesign and is called, "Wow Factor." "These smart cards are appropriately termed," says David Lentz, owner of Lentz Design. "If Joe Smith receives a card with his name written in birds as they fly across the sky, he is going to be pretty intrigued and will remember the sender. Direct mail works, and our new 'Wow Factor' cards are the most effective direct mail piece we've ever created."

He continued: "These visually impactful postcards boldly use the recipient's name to break through mailbox clutter. In today's market, a Realtor needs a marketing piece that will separate him or her from the hundreds of other agents competing for a listing. Our clients demand a high quality, intelligent direct mail postcard. With our new ‘Wow Factor' cards, we are exceeding their expectations and doing so at an incredibly low price."

To accommodate the development of "Wow Factor" cards, LentzDesign has transitioned to the digital print world. All of their postcard designs are now offered in full color on both sides and can be utilized as Just Listed, Just Sold, Prospecting (coming soon), Agent Recruiting, or Time Change reminders. Postcards are available individually for as low as 42 cents each, which includes postage, addressing and mailing. The agent can upload his/her own list for free or purchase a mailing list from LentzDesign.
