Fidelity and DPN Announce Roll-out of Next Generation REBS Desktop

May 10, 2007
Reading Time: 2 mins read

RISMEDIA, May 11, 2007-Fidelity National Real Estate Solutions has announced the release of its REBS Desktop offering, the graphical interface to its flagship product, REBS (Real Estate Broker System) Back Office system. Both products are offered through the division’s DPN back office and accounting solutions channel.”REBS Desktop combines the maneuverability of Windows(R) with the reliability of REBS,” said DPN President Dan Lowell. “The development of this new solution has been ongoing for several years and we are excited to get it into the hands of our clients. The BETA test release was announced in April at our Users’ Symposium, where we enrolled a select group of clients to test it. The public release is scheduled for later this year,” Lowell concluded.

According to Lowell, demonstrations of REBS Desktop will be ongoing during the 2007 National Association of Realtors Midyear Legislative Meetings & Trade Expo in Washington, D.C. from May 16-18, 2007, at which time additional BETA testers will be enrolled.

REBS Desktop, a 32-bit Windows(R) application requiring Windows 2000(R), XP(R), or Vista(R) provides another breakthrough for DPN. The REBS solution is a full accounting package tailored to the needs of real estate brokers, with complete contract management and commission processing capabilities.

REBS Desktop offers expanding and collapsing menus, enhanced point-and-click navigation, clearly identified look-up options that display in a grid window with slide bars. The REBS Desktop application will open reports directly into Excel(R) or any Windows(R) Default Text Editor.

Beginning its development in 1979, REBS has become DPN’s flagship product and the most comprehensive and integrated real estate back office and accounting software solution available, used by more than half of the nation’s largest real estate brokers. REBS’ fully integrated modules handle the entire lifecycle of each sale, from the listing of a property through closing the contract and issuing the commission checks. The software is designed to offer a multi-company, multi-branch accounting system, integrating General Ledger, Subsidiary Ledger, Accounts Payable, Broker Management with Agent Receivables, Earnings, Production Ranking, 1099 Reporting, Interactive Commission/Fee Processing, Contract Reporting, Contract Management/Agent Tracking, Budgeting, Basic Listing, Bank Reconciliation and Laser Checks.

According to Lowell, reaction to the new addition to the REBS system has been extremely positive.

“We’ve also put in place a discount structure for the offices that participate in the BETA phase,” added Lowell. “We’ll continue to sign up BETA participants through the NAR Midyear meeting and then analyze their feedback to insure that this fall’s release is the most robust, complete and user-friendly system available.”

The Phase I Release of REBS Desktop includes the CORE DPN System General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Listings and Real Estate, as well as Broker-Held Escrow and Subsidiary Ledger Optional Modules. Other modules may be accessed via REBS Desktop, but will continue to function in the existing character-based mode. Future releases will expand to encompass other optional modules. Links are available from REBS Desktop directly to eREBS.
