RISMEDIA, Sept 2, 2008-Fidelity National Financial, Inc., a Fortune 500 provider of products, services and technology solutions to the financial and real estate industries, has announced that Freedom Interactive, a division of Freedom Communications, has partnered with the Data Aggregation Group (DAGG) of Fidelity National Real Estate Solutions’ (FNRES) Broker Agent Products division.
The agreement allows the Irvine, CA-based information and entertainment company use of MLS and broker listings collected and standardized by FNRES’ data aggregation service. For decades, the DAGG service has been restricted to in-house use by Fidelity National companies. This year the Fidelity data services became available for use by third-party and media companies. Freedom Interactive is among the first to sign on for this newly available service.
Freedom Interactive is a division of Freedom Communications, a national, privately-owned information and entertainment company headquartered in Irvine, California. Freedom Interactive owns and operates websites coast to coast, each offering up-to-the-minute breaking news stories, extensive local content, and trusted local news coverage on demand. The company’s websites are associated with various Freedom Communications media properties, including over 100 newspaper and magazines, such as The Orange County Register in Orange County, California, and The Gazette in Colorado Springs, Colorado, as well as eight leading broadcast television stations.
“Real estate listings have always given a big boost to our online readership,” said Doug Bennett, President of Freedom Interactive. “The importance of this service to the health of our business and the services we provide to each of our local audiences cannot be overstated. Freedom Communications sought a partnership with the data provider with the greatest track record, seasoned personnel and with the scale to ensure we could give our site visitors reliable and timely listings.
“This is also going to save us money,” Bennett continued. “Freedom has been aggregating data for their websites for years, but the results of a recent cost analysis on producing the same data services in-house proved it would be more cost effective to outsource these services to Fidelity.
“Fidelity National has been refining listing data collection for online real estate longer than any other company,” John Hensley, FNRES SVP and General Manager of Broker Agent Products and Data Aggregation. “Our DAGG services provide superior data for a lower cost than other companies now pay to generate it themselves.”
