Prudential Picked as Top Company for Latinas by LATINA Style Magazine

RISMEDIA, Sept. 12, 2008-Prudential Financial, Inc. was ranked again among the top 12 companies in LATINA Style magazine’s 50 Best Companies for Latinas to work for in the U.S.

“Prudential values the talents and perspectives of employees from all walks of life,” says Sharon C. Taylor, senior vice president, Human Resources. “We are committed to providing a workplace where all employees have the opportunity to grow and develop in their careers and to lead fulfilling lives.”

The 50 Best Companies are chosen from more than 1,000 prominent U.S. corporations. Companies responding to LATINA Style’s questionnaire are evaluated based on the issues identified by their readers as most important in the workplace. The areas of evaluation include: number of Latina executives, mentoring programs, Latina board members, educational opportunities, alternative work policies, dependent and child care support, employee benefits, women’ issues, job retraining, affinity groups and Hispanic relations.

Evaluations for the 2008 report were based on 2007 data.

Our tuition reimbursement program assists employees in attaining higher education and employee resource groups such as the Hispanic Heritage Network help employees build critical business skills. Prudential also sponsors a Woman in Finance networking forum designed to develop leadership and career management skills and promote financial independence for women.

We offer alternative work arrangements and a host of work/life programs because we recognize that employees who successfully manage their personal responsibilities are more productive and successful at work,” says Taylor.
