RE/MAX Optimum Group Merges with RE/MAX Alliance

RISMEDIA, Sept. 23, 2008-RE/MAX Optimum Group, LLC, one of Greeley, Colorado’s leading real estate firms, has merged with RE/MAX Alliance in Greeley to create what the company is calling a “formidable Northern Colorado real estate powerhouse.” The combined market share of the two offices, the company says, effectively makes RE/MAX Alliance the number one real estate office in the Greeley area. John DeWitt, managing broker for RE/MAX Alliance in Greeley, will oversee the transition to a single Greeley location in the near future.

RE/MAX Optimum Group was founded in 1994 by Ron and Debbie Kohl. The couple built their own office building in 1999 just west of the Aims Community College campus. The office opened with eight agents, with 20 leading real estate professionals now on the company’s roster. Debbie Kohl sold her interest in the company to Kevin Schumacher, Ron’s nephew, and Wayne Kohl, Ron’s brother, in 2004. Both have been served in management positions since. The company’s market share in the Greeley area through the second quarter of 2008 was 6.76%, with the combined market share with RE/MAX Alliance totaling 14.8%. RE/MAX Optimum Group recorded nearly $167 million in total sales volume for 2007.

“This merger offers numerous benefits and advantages for all parties,” said Ron Kohl. “First, RE/MAX Alliance is the leader in the use of advanced technology. The lead generation system on the Alliance website is one of the top systems nationally. Our brokers can now participate in the company’s insurance programs and 401k retirement package. The two offices boast leading real estate professionals with high integrity, a fact that will fuel our growth in the Greeley area. We are now double in number and have become part of the largest independently owned real estate company in Colorado. Joining Alliance will give our brokers many more opportunities to network with other Alliance brokers throughout the state, providing them the advantage of referrals from area to area. The ability to better negotiate with vendors for discounts in marketing materials and advertising costs is another key advantage of the merger.”

“The merger of RE/MAX Optimum with RE/MAX Alliance is a natural fit that benefits everyone,” said Gene Vaughan, a partner with RE/MAX Alliance and former owner of RE/MAX First Associates which merged with Alliance in November 2005. “The merger of two successful offices will give the Optimum agents additional and improved benefits that will provide a competitive edge in meeting the real estate needs of our customers and clients in the Greeley area. The merger significantly strengthens RE/MAX Alliance’s already leading position in Northern Colorado, and we welcome all former Optimum agents and managers to the RE/MAX Alliance family.”

RE/MAX Alliance is co-owned by Chuck Ochsner and Chad Ochsner. Chuck was born and raised in Northern Colorado and graduated from Greeley High School in 1959. “This is an exciting merger for us and really solidifies the strong roots I continue to have with friends and colleagues in the Greeley area and throughout Northern Colorado.”

“This is an exciting time for RE/MAX Alliance in Greeley,” said John Dewitt, managing broker for RE/MAX Alliance. “I look forward to working with our new colleagues as we make a seamless transition to a single office that will boast the best and the brightest professionals in the real estate business. I know all the former Optimum agents and can personally testify to their professionalism and character, which makes this merger a perfect fit.”
