Adapting to Online Technology – DotLoop’s Online Transaction System Streamlines Real Estate Process

RISMEDIA, September 15, 2010—As the real estate industry continues its shift toward paperless transactions, DotLoop has hit the ground running by providing user-friendly technology and innovative online solutions to the industry at-large.

“In a day when client interaction has largely shifted from paper to online, the role of the real estate agent has not changed,” says Anthony de Movellan, operations manager at Prudential A.S. de Movellan in Lexington, Kentucky.

What real estate agents do, what they say and when they need to meet face-to-face with the client are important constants that lead to real estate success.

“The only thing that has changed since bringing DotLoop into our office is the way in which clients sign documents,” he says.

Since launching the system company-wide in April 2010, de Movellan has come to realize that his customers can be anywhere.

“As consumers continue to become more mobile, interacting with them throughout the buying or selling process is becoming more challenging,” he says.

But with DotLoop, Prudential A.S. de Movellan’s agents can reach out to their clients and get signatures with the click of a button. “DotLoop allows us to send documents to a client for a signature—no matter where they are.” Clients no longer need to be in front of their computer to receive and print documents and then take the time to fax the signed copy back to their agent.

Eliminating the back-and-forth faxes that were a large part of signing real estate documents in the past has led to a more streamlined and quicker process.

“The speed at which we can get a property on the market as well as the speed at which we can get the forms signed—whether they be listings or price changes—and returned has been a huge time saver for our agents and clients,” he says. In addition, the end product is clear and typed, making it easy for everyone involved in the process to read and understand the end result.

With all of the company’s standard forms pre-entered into the system, agents simply sign into DotLoop, create a new “loop” and add the necessary documents before sending it to their client for approval.

“Customers are going to sign a real estate document—whether it is on paper or online,” says de Movellan. “The advantage to using DotLoop is that our clients have the ability to sign the documents the way that is most convenient for them.” While A.S. de Movellan has seen great success in its agents and clients adapting to the online technology, the DotLoop system has the built-in ability to print the transaction on any screen for those more comfortable working with the hard copy.

“We have had a lot of success right off the bat with DotLoop’s online transaction system, especially on the listing side,” adds de Movellan.

Having started their 100th loop (at press time), the agents at A.S. de Movellan have taken advantage of the system and have seen success in getting listings signed all the way through.

From the beginning, working with DotLoop has been a great decision for the company. “The idea behind the DotLoop system is so simple,” says de Movellan, “but it works.”

Not only has the company been easy to work with—from discussing the benefits of the system with Austin Allison (DotLoop’s co-founder and CEO), to the live chat feature, to tweaking or changing things quickly, DotLoop has given A.S. de Movellan’s agents the ability to complete transactions in a more streamlined approach.
