Atlanta Realtor Mark Spain Honored by The Wall Street Journal

RISMedia, August 16, 2010–The Wall Street Journal/Real Trends 2010 Real Estate Top 400 Professionals list was just released in August. It is based on a survey of thousands of brokerage firms, associations of Realtors® and hundreds of other sources to determine the top-performing agents in the United States, based on 2009 sales production. Atlanta-based Realtor Mark Spain and his RE/MAX Greater Atlanta real estate team were honored as the #29 team in the United States. The Mark Spain Team was #29 for most transaction sides and #29 for highest sales volume. Spain was the only Georgia-based team on the Top 100 Teams by Sales Volume list.

The ranking is broken down by teams and individual agents, with a top 100 list each for transaction sides and for sales volume. Now in its 5th year, this ranking is the only independent study of its kind where all results from individual submissions are independently verified through third party sources. Mark Spain Team’s 2009 sales marked the ninth consecutive year the team has exceeded the $100 million annual sales mark. They averaged more than a closing a day with 453 closings for a gross sales volume of $105.5 million.

“We have tried to structure our team to respond to what’s going on in the metro Atlanta market. Our team can now counsel people on whether to sell now, wait, do a short sale or take other measures to avoid foreclosure,” explained Mark Spain. “It’s all about informing buyers and sellers of their options and staying in touch with them throughout the sale process. We’ve even started an additional website, http://www.GreaterAtlantaForeclosureHelp.com, to help local homeowners in trouble.”

Mark Spain has been Short Sales and Foreclosure Resource (SFR) certified by the National Association of Realtors and earned the prestigious Certified Distressed Property Expert (CDPE) designation in 2009. Earlier this year, he attended and graduated from the Five Star Institute Center for Short Sale Success.

Mark’s team regularly ranks in the top 20 teams worldwide out of some 100,000 RE/MAX agents in more than 75 countries. In 2006, Mark Spain surpassed the billion dollar sales mark for lifetime transactions and is believed to be the youngest Realtor to accomplish this in the least amount of time—11 years. Spain has also received numerous industry honors, like twice being named a Top 50 Realtor on the Rise in the U.S. by Real Estate magazine, being inducted into the RE/MAX Hall of Fame, in 2010 he earned the Circle of Legends Award from RE/MAX International.

An Atlanta native, Mark Spain is a University of Georgia graduate. He is affiliated with the RE/MAX Greater Atlanta office at 5591 Chamblee-Dunwoody Road in Atlanta. The Mark Spain Team specializes in assisting home buyers and sellers in the metro Atlanta region in all price levels.
