Reading Time: 2 mins read

Given the importance of the real estate market in today’s economic environment, REALTORS® will make their voices heard in Washington, D.C., next month at the National Association of REALTORS® Midyear Legislative Meetings & Trade Expo, May 14-19. More than 9,000 participants from across the country are expected to attend.

As a highlight of this year’s meetings, on Thursday, May 17, REALTORS® will rally in front of the Washington Monument from 9:30-11 a.m. for a Rally to Protect the American Dream. Members of Congress will join REALTORS® as they hear from speakers about how homeownership issues affect individuals, communities, small businesses and the nation. The rally will highlight the important role housing plays in the economic recovery.

Throughout the week, REALTORS® will meet with regulators, industry leaders, and members of Congress to address critical and urgent issues like homeownership tax benefits, mortgage liquidity, flood insurance reform, commercial real estate lending, and measures to ensure the stability of the real estate market and overall economic recovery.

Members of the media can register in advance by contacting Yolanda Byrd, 202-383-7515, ybyrd@realtors.org. Onsite registration is in the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel Atrium on Monday, May 14, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.; Tuesday, May 15, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.; Wednesday, May 16 and Thursday, May 17, 8 a.m.-6 p.m.; and Friday, May 18, 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Registration is free for credentialed media and is required to attend the meetings.
