In addition to offering a vast selection of items for sale, the event also serves as a fundraiser for the Northgate High School chapter of Kiva. Kiva is a non-profit organization with the mission to connect people through lending money to alleviate poverty. Leveraging the internet and a worldwide network of microfinance institutions, Kiva lets individuals lend as little as $25 to help create opportunity around the world.
“Kiva has a unique model, and an incredibly important mission,” said Pete Torrey. “We’re proud to partner with them this year and to not only help them raise funds but to create additional awareness of what the organization does and why it is a critical contributor to our world.”
