Bruce Aydt, senior vice president and general counsel at Prudential Alliance, REALTORS®, has received the prestigious National Association of REALTORS® Distinguished Service Award. Aydt is only the second person in Missouri and the first in more than 25 years to earn this honor.
The NAR Distinguished Service Award is presented annually to two REALTORS® from across the country who have given exceptional long-term service to the NAR and have fulfilled leadership positions within the organization.
Since the inception of the Distinguished Service Award in the late 1970s, there have been only 82 recipients out of the nearly one million REALTORS® around the country. There are currently 42 living honorees in the entire United States.
Aydt, who is a REALTOR®, attorney and educator, has been involved in the management of real-estate brokerages for more than 30 years. Active in all levels of REALTOR® organizations, he has served as president of the Missouri Association of REALTORS® and the St. Louis Association of REALTORS®. For his outstanding service, he was named REALTOR® of the Year by both the local and state associations, and has been inducted into the REBAC Hall of Fame.
On a national level, Aydt has chaired numerous NAR committees, including the Professional Standards Committee, Legal Action Committee and State Leadership Forum. A nationally recognized educator on real estate issues, Aydt is the regular columnist on ethics issues for REALTOR® Magazine. Both the National and Missouri Associations of REALTORS® have selected Aydt as Educator of the Year.
“I am honored to have received such a prestigious national award,” Aydt says. “Throughout my career, I have enjoyed participating in REALTOR® activities, both in St. Louis and on a national level. I am especially gratified to have had the opportunity to educate many realtors on professional standards and the REALTOR® Code of Ethics.”
Andrea Lawrence, broker/owner of Prudential Alliance, REALTORS®, adds “We are proud to have Bruce Aydt on the Prudential Alliance management team. His dedication to the real-estate industry has been nothing short of exceptional, and his educational, community and career achievements are truly exemplary.”
