Investors Are Buying Less, but Might Be Ready to Sell Now

For some investor-owners, selling might not be feasible; however, perhaps they’re feeling overwhelmed by managing their rental properties. This is another chance for you to step in and become their go-to resource by helping them manage these properties. If you have experience in this area, or are willing to get trained, it’s worth pursuing. And when it’s time to sell, those owners will turn to you first.

The real estate investor is typically a savvy client, so you’ll need to be armed with the hard data and market analyses that show why now is a great time to sell. If you haven’t worked with investors much and would like to get in front of these potential clients, education is your first step—the Certified Investor Agent Specialist designation is a great start. Networking is crucial, too, so visit local real estate investment groups, host real estate investing seminars, or ask a colleague in your office who specializes in working with investors to show you the ropes.

Your best weapon in persuading investors to work with you is your proven track record of results, along with strong client references. Once you have their attention, listen to what their investment goals are and explain how you’re going to help make those goals a reality.
