Think Out of the Box with Pinterest

Create boards that highlight what it’s like to live in specific towns and neighborhoods that you deal in to provide homebuyers with the chance to envision their life in the community.

Another tip: whenever blogging about any real estate topic, you should always include at least one “pinnable” image and link to your Pinterest page.

While most real estate agents don’t need a separate board for their business, Lance feels it is probably a good idea for brokers, who can take advantage of the robust analytics it provides. This will help brokers learn what’s popular, what people are pinning and enjoying, and it can help you make better decisions.

When it comes to things you must do, Lance recommends getting creative with photos, liking and sharing pins and pinning from original sources. You should also search out clients.

Never re-pin without giving proper credit. Lance says that in her opinion, the best photos to pin are the ones you create, but if there is one that you feel you really need to share, make sure you get permission first and don’t try to pass it off as your own.

Enhancement Help

When working on Pinterest, Lance offers a number of great websites that can help you make your pins stand out more.

Pinstamatic.com allows one to create a virtual post-it note that can be posted to Pinterest without needing to know about editing tools. Options include fun things like maps, notes and quotes.

Viraltag.com is a great tool for bigger brands (such as a brokerage) as it provides help with effectively marketing your visual content.

What Lance loves about Tailwind.com (formerly Pinreach), is that it offers great analytics, not just for your own pins, but for those of competitors, so you can learn what other agents in the area are doing on the site.

Shareasimage.com is a tool that allows you to enhance your photos with quotes, images and other fun things.
