American Home Shield “Kidstructions” Video Contest Underway

Home News
February 16, 2014
Reading Time: 2 mins read

Do you know some kids that are full of imaginative insights and love to get in front of a video camera? If so, you have a good chance to win some great prizes from American Home Shield®. AHS knows how complicated it can be to describe how household systems and appliances work. That’s why they’ve launched the Kidstructions “How does it work?” video contest.

Just record your kids talking about how different household appliances work and then submit the videos. You and your clients will have a chance to win a number of valuable prizes—including a round trip for four to Walt Disney World® and a free 1-Year AHS Home Protection Plan!

Submit videos between now and March 14th

From now until March 14, 2014, American Home Shield is accepting video submissions for two age categories: 1) Videos featuring children aged 18 months – 5 years; and 2) Videos featuring children aged 6-12 years.

The entry process is easy. Just follow these steps:

1. Video record a 30-60 second video of your child explaining how a particular home system or appliance works.
2. Upload your video to your own YouTube Channel.
3. Submit your video url to AHS with the entry form from http://ahs.com/kidstructions

Public votes will determine the finalists

Phase 1 voting (now through March 14, 2014) is open to the public via the American Home Shield Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/team.ahs where videos can be shared with family and friends to gain more votes. The top 7 vote-getting entries will move on to the final round. Phase 2 finalists will be judged on creativity, originality, appropriateness to theme, and quality of expression of each video to determine the winners. This judging period takes place from March 22, 2014 to April 4, 2014.

Grand prize winners head to Walt Disney World®

In each of the two age groups, the following prizes will be awarded: Grand prize winner receives a round trip for four to Walt Disney World® and a free 1-Year AHS Home Protection Plan. Runner up receives a $2,500 Savings Bond and a free 1-Year AHS Home Protection Plan. And finally, a selected finalist in each age group will receive a free, 1-year AHS Home Protection Plan. Winners will be announced on April 15, 2014. So pull out that video camera and film your creative kids today!
