RE/MAX Continues Worldwide Growth

Home News
April 30, 2014
Reading Time: 2 mins read

Two leading real estate entrepreneurs are the new owners of the RE/MAX master franchise in South Korea, as the country becomes the newest addition to the RE/MAX global network.

Heui Seong Shin and his long-time business partner, Yun Seok Choi, have extensive real estate experience in South Korea and an aggressive plan for growth. The new venture increases the significant RE/MAX presence in Asia, further solidifying the largest global reach of all U.S. real estate franchises.

“We’re especially pleased to have the opportunity to partner with two owners who have the experience and dedication to excellence that RE/MAX embodies,” says Dave Liniger, RE/MAX Chairman and Co-Founder. “We know they will bring the RE/MAX attention to customer service to the homebuyers and homeowners in South Korea.”

Shin holds a business degree from the University of Seoul. Choi is a retired Corporal from the Korean army. The partners have a diverse background in real estate, most recently managing their own commercial real estate company – Wide Partners – one of the leaders in commercial real estate in Seoul.

“RE/MAX is a brand that is known and respected around the world,” says Shin. “We chose to go with RE/MAX because of the resources available at all levels, whether you’re an owner or an agent. We’ll have all the support we need as we move forward.”

Shin and Choi have a five-year plan to sell 50 office franchises and recruit 400 agents. The overall goal is to establish a 200-office and 3,000-agent network in South Korea, home to over 48 million people.

“There’s a reason that RE/MAX continues to grow around the world,” says Choi. “As a new franchise, we’re already several steps ahead of our competition because of the variety and number of resources that RE/MAX provides.”

In 2013, RE/MAX held the top position among all real estate brands in two prestigious franchise rankings, the Franchise Times Top 200 and the Entrepreneur magazine’s Franchise 500. And, for the sixth time in a row, RE/MAX was named one of the Top 50 Franchises for Minorities by the National Minority Franchising Initiative through the World Franchising Network.

The regional RE/MAX Korea office is located in Seoul, South Korea’s capital and its political, commercial, industrial and cultural hub.

RE/MAX has a presence in more than 95 countries, a global reach greater than any competitor. With more than 6,300 independently owned and operated offices around the world and a sales force of over 93,000 sales associates, RE/MAX offers buyers and sellers the experience and knowledge of the most productive professionals in the real estate industry.
