MRIS Negotiating to Provide Direct Syndication of Listings to Zillow

MRIS, an industry-leading Mid-Atlantic Multiple Listing Service (MLS) that facilitates nearly $125 million a day in real estate transactions, has announced that it is in negotiations to establish direct syndication of broker listings to Zillow® by April 7th. This new, direct feed option will replace the Zillow broker syndication capability currently provided by ListHub. Earlier this month, ListHub and Zillow announced their syndication agreement would not be renewed.

“It is the sole prerogative of the Listing Broker to decide where their inventory appears,” said Jon Coile, MRIS Chairman of the Board.  “Our role at MRIS is simply to provide a secure and reliable pipeline.”

Through this partnership, MRIS brokers would be able to have their listings sent directly to Zillow, so that their current listings on Zillow.com and Zillow’s portfolio of brands and products on mobile and the Web are always up-to-date. Brokers will continue to have full control of listing syndication and may opt in or out of providing a direct listing feed to Zillow through MRIS at any time. Alternatively, brokers may continue to maintain their direct feed relationships with Zillow.

“Direct feeds from the MLS are the simplest way to ensure that brokers who wish to have their listings appear on Zillow can do so easily and with complete control,” added Coile. “Without this feed, brokers without the technical ability to syndicate themselves would find it far more difficult to share their listings on one of the most popular national home search sites.”

“By partnering with MRIS, we will receive listings directly from the MLS and eliminate gaps between updates from real estate professionals and listings on our site,” said Brian de Schepper, Director of MLS and Industry Relations at Zillow. “The Mid-Atlantic region is a very sought after area for homebuyers and we are excited to work with MRIS to help its brokers market their home listings.”
