RE/MAX HQ Sells Six-Office D.C.-Area Brokerage

Reading Time: 2 mins read

RE/MAX 100, based in Maryland and made up of six offices and 270 agents, has been sold to Ken Crowley, the current broker/owner of RE/MAX Realty Group in Gaithersburg. With five offices in Maryland and one in Northern Virginia, RE/MAX 100 agents were responsible for nearly $1 billion in residential home sales in 2014.

“We’re thrilled that Ken is the new owner of RE/MAX 100. He’s a successful and respected businessman who’s worked in the RE/MAX system since 1986,” said Dave Liniger, CEO, Chairman of the Board and Co-Founder of RE/MAX, LLC. “For some time, we’ve said that we would look for the right opportunity to sell this East Coast brokerage and we couldn’t be more pleased that this deal with Ken has worked out so well.”

Crowley has a total of 32 years of local real estate experience. His significant tenure and accomplishment in the RE/MAX organization has earned him the prestigious “Hall of Fame” status. He has twice been named “Broker/Owner of the Year” in the RE/MAX Central Atlantic Region.

“I love the community where I’ve lived and worked all my life and can’t wait for the opportunity to grow these two brokerages to see the positive impact we can all make together,” Crowley said.

Crowley plans to continue managing the operations of RE/MAX Realty Group, which he has done for 28 years, while keeping the current RE/MAX 100 management in place under the direction of Barbara Lawrence, General Manager.

Crowley also has a strong commitment to his community, having grown up in Montgomery County and attended the University of Maryland. He and his wife, Tricia, have three daughters. Two of them are involved in real estate.

The RE/MAX network has honored RE/MAX 100 as a Premier Broker for the last five years. Many of its agents are involved with local or state realty boards and it was No. 185 in RISMedia’s 2015 Power Broker Report Top 500 ranking of the country’s largest brokerages by sales volume.

RE/MAX 100 has five offices in Maryland: California, Columbia, Dunkirk, Mechanicsville, and White Plains; and one office in Springfield, Virginia. RE/MAX Realty Group has offices in Gaithersburg and North Potomac.
