Real estate agents can never be over-informed on their industry’s trends and hot topics. Multiple Listing Service of Long Island, Inc. (MLSLI), a leading Multiple Listing Service in Long Island, N.Y., is a computerized network of 2,280 real estate offices located in Nassau, Suffolk, Queens and Brooklyn that aims to enhance members’ ability to achieve business success by providing them with stellar systems and services.

In the following Q&A, MLSLI’s Dana Norwick offers insight on how the organization keeps members up to date on technology, market trends and more.

Zoe Eisenberg: What is your organization’s overall goal?
Dana Norwick: Our goal is to provide state-of-the-art systems and services, along with effective communications and customer service, so that our subscribers can grow their business, enhance their professionalism, and stay competitive in today’s ever-changing market.

ZE: How do you help keep your members in tune with market trends?
DN:
We provide many resources and tools to keep our subscribers updated, including monthly Long Island Housing data market updates and indicators. Our Market Report Generator enables subscribers to create professional and easy to understand custom market reports and statistics that can be shared with their consumers. We also provide topical Research & Industry Reports, such as those provided by NAR.

ZE: How do you help keep members up to date on the latest technology?
DN:
Our annual Tech Fair offers sessions by industry experts and sponsors focused on the latest trends in technology, online marketing, consumer needs, mobile, and more. We issue a weekly e-newsletter to keep subscribers current on the latest trends, product and service offerings, upcoming events and training. We also offer our subscribers video tutorials, webinars, and lunch-and-learns on the latest technology.

ZE: How do you facilitate communication and networking among members?
DN:
Various social and networking events are held geographically monthly. In addition to our annual Tech Fair, LIBOR—our parent company–has an annual education conference attracting top notch trainers. Both events offer great networking opportunities for our REALTORS®.

ZE: How do you use content to help members be more successful?
DN:
MLSLI purchases bulk licenses for its subscribers to add relevant content to their website. This free member benefit includes real estate-related videos and news articles from RISMedia, financial calculators, home-value maps, neighborhood and  school data.
