Pinterest: The Perfect Place to Promote Your Business

pinterest_promote_businessIf you’re not marketing your real estate business to women, you could be missing a huge opportunity. Pinterest users are 72 percent female, making it the ideal social platform on which to connect with the leading influencers of home purchases. These tips can help you get started.

To connect with women on Pinterest, remember one thing: They’re passionate about their homes and decorating. That makes you, the home and real estate professional, a good source of inspiration. After all, you share their passion.

Beauty Is in the Eye of the Beholder

Post things you consider beautiful, whether they be interiors of homes, stunning shots of nature, a handcrafted pillow, a gorgeous fabric or to-die-for landscaping. Share on a personal level and post about your personal interests.

Show What You Know

This is your chance to shine as an expert, too. You have boatloads of knowledge to share, and this is the place to do it. Be helpful. Share interesting facts about a particular neighborhood; for example, did something historically important happen here? You could create a specific pinboard called “Did You Know” for this kind of information. Give tips on home buying and selling, ways to maintain a home, your thoughts on staging and more from your bank of information.

Sell Softly

This is a chance to sell your services in a more casual environment. You’re simply letting women know about your professional skills. Here’s where to showcase your listings, or highlight a past sale. You’ll want to pin some facts about your background, any outstanding achievements, and any quotes from satisfied customers.

Get Into the Details

The more specific you get, the more interesting your pins will be. So create particular pinboards to cover, for example, your historic homes listings, great garden listings, homes with incredible curb appeal, perfect family homes, great empty-nester homes, etc.

Establish Yourself as a Community Member

Let clients and potential clients know you do more than represent listings; you’re an involved member of the community. Pin local businesses that you partner with, like painters, landscapers, and decorators. Post pictures of events in which you participated, like charity fundraisers. Highlight what you and your book club are reading.
