What Would the World’s Best and Brightest Minds Think of Smart Home Technology?

Smart home technology is taking off at a breakneck rate—so much so that experts believe half of us will adopt it by the end of this year. The smart home hype has led the folks over at ConsumerAffairs to ponder how the world’s smartest people would use smart home technology in their own homes. Their answers are…brilliant!

Some of our favorites for geniuses past and present:

Charles Darwin, who theorized natural selection at his home in London, would espouse a smart irrigation system, given his world-changing contributions to life sciences.

Albert Einstein, who hung his hair (er, hat) at a home in Princeton, N.J., would be first to implement a smart audio system, due to his love for classical music. (Really!)

Bill Gates, whose Medina, Wash., home has been referred to as Xanadu 2.0, would adopt virtually any and all smart home features…because Bill Gates.

William Shakespeare, who wrote Hamlet, Macbeth and other renowned works at his home in England, would prefer a smart theater system, to enjoy backstage, VIP access from the comfort of home.

Frank Lloyd Wright, whose aesthetic was developed through trial-and-error in his first home in Oak Park, Ill., would make use of a smart lighting system, owing to the organic principle he applied in his designs.
