Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Enters Central Virginia

Home News

Reading Time: 2 mins read

Better Homes and Gardens®Real Estate has announced the addition of real estate company Base Camp Realty to its franchise network. The newly named Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Base Camp, led by broker/owner John O’Reilly, will continue to serve the Central Virginia marketplace, with a focus on the Greater Richmond region.

“Richmond has become quite the destination hotspot, and Base Camp Realty has been a key part of its characteristic charm for many years,” says Sherry Chris, president and CEO, Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate LLC. “The city’s unique blend of distinguished universities, major company headquarters and an emerging culinary scene makes now the perfect time for Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate to welcome one of this region’s foremost real estate and lifestyle authorities to its network.”

Since launching the company in 2008, O’Reilly committed to building a team of real estate professionals whose knowledge of the surrounding community would serve as a key differentiator within a rapidly changing real estate market. Base Camp Realty’s lifestyle-centric approach continues to pay off, as the brokerage was ranked as one of the area’s fastest growing companies in 2015 by local business publication Richmond Bizsense.

Additionally, as a testament to the talent Base Camp Realty attracts, two real estate professionals affiliated with the brokerage received recognition as “Rookies of the Year” in 2014 and 2015, as recognized by the Richmond Association of Realtors. With more than 18 years of industry experience, O’Reilly leads a growing team centered around the understanding of each neighborhood’s distinctive personality, from the school districts to seasonal community activities.

“Every transaction is about much more than a piece of property, as customers will never buy a home without first buying into the community,” says O’Reilly. “In that same vein, real estate has never been, and will never be, a commoditized industry. Instead of trying to paint everyone with the same brush, our team personalizes each transaction to fit the unique lifestyle needs of our buyers and sellers. Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate perfectly embodies this value system and will allow us to take our service to the next level with their resources and support.”

A board member for the Partnership for Housing Affordability, O’Reilly is also passionate about providing stable housing for the Richmond metropolitan community. As part of this commitment, he and his affiliated agents and staff donate their time during Affordable Housing Awareness Week and volunteer at worksites to build and repair homes for neighbors in need.
