Arming the Real Estate Industry with Women’s Homeownership Certification

Home Industry News
June 8, 2016
Reading Time: 2 mins read

The mission of the National Association of Women in Real Estate Businesses (NAWRB) Women’s Homeownership Initiative (WHI) is to increase women’s access to homeownership and sustainable homeownership rates across the nation. Homeownership will cement women’s personal and professional strides.

To continue to raise awareness within ommunities, NAWRB is hosting two women’s homeownership events in June. The Real Estate Professional Certification Workshop will take place today, June 9th –in Raleigh, N.C., and on June 24th, in Arlington, Tex. Admission to both events is free. All real estate professionals are invited to attend and receive the NAWRB Women’s Homeownership Certification.

The value of the NAWRB certificate is the expertise and knowledge in women’s homeownership it demonstrates. By understanding the importance and challenges in women’s homeownership, real estate professionals can increase the success rate of women’s homeownership, best serve women homebuyers, and capitalize on the buying power of successful women.

A diverse panel will equip attendees with the information needed to successfully traverse the female homebuyer market. “Purchasing Property: Value Add of Lender Products, Brokerages, Title Settlement Services” provides a detailed look into buyer resources when buying a home, from finding the right loan to the benefits of utilizing a title company. “Access to Business Capital” will demonstrate the ways women can pitch their homes to obtain business loans. By utilizing the upkeep of a home as a business model, women can show accountability in running a successful business, pushing new ideas to leverage their home to secure capital.

With a pervasive 27 percent-gender wage gap and imbalanced professional sectors, women endure significant poverty levels that are difficult to surpass. Homeownership is an achievement that carries with it the potential to safeguard one’s wealth and progress.

Census Bureau data reveals there are currently 18,057,000 female homeowners in the United States and according to the National Association of Realtors’ (NAR) Recent Home Buyer Profiles Nov, 2015, 15 percent of recent buyers were single females compared to 9 percent single men.

Women’s homeownership is an emerging market, register today (Raleigh/Arlington) to learn how to help create a better tomorrow for today’s women.
