European-based premium real estate firm Engel & Völkers announced its newest shop opening in Ottawa, bringing the firm’s global network and exclusive level of service to the nation’s capital city. Led by John King, owner and Broker of Record, the new Engel & Völkers Ottawa Central will provide its premium service and international reach to clients throughout Ottawa, including Westboro, Rockcliffe, Wellington Village, Centretown, Sandy Hill and The Glebe. The shop is located in Wellington Village, a neighborhood in the midst of active development of condos and high-end homes.

“John and his team have established themselves as the leading providers of premium real estate service in Ottawa and share the same commitment to quality and expertise that our brand is known for worldwide,” says Anthony Hitt, CEO of Engel & Völkers North America. “Under their leadership, Engel & Völkers Ottawa Central will represent a new standard in real estate which will include unmatched global reach and exposure in a market that is home to a diverse and growing population.”

As Canada’s capital, Ottawa is a desirable place to work and live, acting as a home base to many foreign embassies, government buildings, and cultural landmarks such as Parliament Hill, the Ottawa River, and Rideau Canal. It provides a bustling city centre with housing, retail, business, and entertainment offerings, while also offering easy access to surrounding residential neighborhoods, bike paths, and nature trails.

A major draw to buyers continues to be Ottawa’s stable and diverse economy in both the public and private sectors, most notably a booming technology industry with over 1,900 high-tech companies ranging from mid-size businesses to global enterprises. It also has the second largest concentration of science and engineering employment in North America, surpassed only by Silicon Valley. No other city has the breadth and depth of fibre optic connectivity of Ottawa – making it Canada’s most connected city.

“Ottawa is increasingly attracting international buyers and sellers. As Engel & Völkers Ottawa Central, our local expertise and reputation will be enhanced with unmatched international reach,” says King. The Engel & Völkers brand aligns with the image of our existing office and team. Most importantly, Engel & Völkers allows us to differentiate ourselves with a high-end, international brand in a highly saturated market.”

With shops in Toronto, Markham, King City, Collingwood, Vancouver, Victoria, Calgary, Mont Tremblant, Montreal, and now Ottawa; and, in the U.S. with San Francisco, Beverly Hills, Lake Tahoe, Houston, South Charlotte, Minneapolis and New York City, Engel & Völkers continues to strengthen its presence in premium real estate markets across North America. Additionally, Engel & Völkers continues to expand throughout Canada with planned openings in several new markets.
