4 Vacation Spots You’ll Want to Visit This Summer

While it barely feels like spring yet in many parts of Canada, long weekends and summer vacation time off is just around the corner. If you haven’t planned your summer vacation yet, and are still looking for somewhere to escape to this summer, consider some destinations you probably avoided during your winter escape.

Reykjavik, Iceland
Iceland is a must-see destination for those who love nature and spectacular views. You’ll be blown away by the beauty of the landscape. But being so far north means the best time to visit is July and August when the weather is reliably warm. From experiencing a geothermal spa at the famous Blue Lagoon, to whale watching and seeing the Northern Lights, there’s a lot to see and do in Iceland that you won’t find elsewhere.

Anchorage, Alaska
If Iceland is too big a commitment and you’d rather road trip than take a plane, consider Alaska. Similarly breathtaking views and incredible nature experiences are available all year long. Whether you’re interested in glaciers, the Aurora Borealis or hiking trails, you will have every opportunity to see and do it all in Anchorage. Of course, weather-wise, the warmest months are similar to the rest of Canada, so summer is the perfect time to visit.

London, England
Summer is peak English tourism time for a reason. The weather is finally, briefly warm and sunny meaning you can visit Big Ben, Buckingham Palace and Abbey Road without needing a raincoat. There are also plenty of music festivals, cultural experiences and opportunities to see the English countryside if that’s more your thing.

Hamburg, Germany
While most will head to Berlin, Hamburg is a great city to add to your European vacation list. Slightly less crowded, it makes for a more affordable vacation, and with world class music venues, restaurants, pubs and parks, you’ll have plenty of culture to choose from. Experience the best of German beer at the Altes Madchen brewhouse before heading to Heide Park, or Miniatur Wunderland.
