In democratic systems, every person has not only the right, but the obligation to make their voices heard and protect, protest or push for laws that they believe are important. In 2021, Michael Verdone, broker at Economic Concepts, Inc., embodied this commitment, rising up to take a stand against profound changes not seen in a century proposed in Washington D.C., changes that would have struck at core capitalist values and potentially harmed the real estate industry.

Forming a revolutionary new task force as part of his role as chair of the Taxation & Government Finance Committee for the California Association of REALTORS®, Verdone successfully labored to overthrow proposed tax legislation that might have significantly weighed on the real estate market. Always an advocate for the real estate class, Verdone proved in 2021 that REALTORS® “promote a healthy, stable neighborhood and city for all.”
