RISMEDIA, Feb. 7, 2008-Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in Long Island and Queens announced that it has acquired the assets of Benjamin Long Island Realty, Inc., which does business as Century 21 Benjamin, in Syosset, N.Y. The company’s more than 40 sales associates will transition operations from their current location to Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage’s existing Syosset office, located less than two miles away at 140 Jericho Turnpike.

The Syosset office of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage will continue to be led by Pat Maude, branch manager.

Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in Long Island and Queens comprises 19 offices with approximately 1,200 sales associates, who accounted for a total closed sales volume of $2.7 billion in 2006.

“With Syosset situated only 30 miles outside of Manhattan, the area has been magnetic in attracting commuters for decades,” said Joe Mamone, president and chief operating officer for Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in Long Island and Queens. “The in-depth local knowledge that Benjamin Long Island Realty’s agents possess, combined with our extensive reach into outlying areas strengthens our ability to better serve the North Shore’s real estate consumers.”

Marie Gitlin, co-owner of Benjamin Long Island Realty, along with her husband, Edward, will hold senior sales positions with the newly combined organization. In the last 12 months, Benjamin Long Island Realty accounted for nearly $110 million in closed sales volume.

“We are very pleased to become part of the Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage team because we’ve seen it become the fastest-growing real estate company on Long Island,” said Marie Gitlin. “Combining forces allows our agents to provide their clients comprehensive on-line marketing programs, cutting-edge technology, a strong international presence and a leading relocation service.”
