MetroList, Northern Nevada Regional MLS (NNRMLS), and Oregon Data Share, LLC (ODS) have announced a technology collaboration to share real estate transaction data across California, Nevada and Oregon. The strategic partnership between the three leading multiple listing service organizations will provide real estate professionals with access to real-time, multi-state property listing data.

“Clients expect their real estate professional to work for them wherever they are buying a home, in their local community or a different state, and we know migration among our states continues to increase,” said Dave Howe, president and CEO of MetroList. “By eliminating data barriers and fostering collaboration among these three leading MLSs, we are creating new opportunities for real estate professionals and improving the experience for homebuyers and sellers.”

ODS founders Tina Grimes, CEO of Southern Oregon MLS, and Casie Conlon, CEO of Cascades East MLS, emphasized the significance of this collaboration. “This is a natural and strategic step, given the consumer migration between Oregon, Nevada and California. Our goal is to empower our members with the tools and access they need to best serve their clients.”

“This technology partnership is about three independent MLSs working together to build software solutions that bring real value to our members,” remarked NNRMLS CEO George Pickard. “Our multi-state data share initiative is just the start—a foundation upon which we will level up the capabilities of our individual organizations to deliver innovation for our respective memberships in Nevada, Oregon, and California.”

Strengthening the MLS network

The organizations noted that the multi-state initiative will provide agents and brokers with real-time and historical listing information and broader market insights for areas where its member’s clients are coming from or moving to. Through their members, consumers will have access to accurate and reliable listing information across state lines, professional and experienced agents and comprehensive property information not available on other sites, a release noted.

The MLSs pointed to Census statistics that show that a significant number of people relocate between California, Nevada and Oregon every year. Following an analysis of the migration patterns between these states, the partner MLSs said they saw an opportunity to collaborate and equip agents with the data and tools they need to serve clients across state lines and adapt to shifting market trends. Future expansion opportunities are already being explored to further improve market connectivity, a release noted.

A unified vision for the future

According to the MLSs this initiative aligns with their unified vision of providing a seamless, borderless real estate experience, allowing professionals and consumers to easily navigate transactions. The MLS partners are committed to continuously enhancing the platform and encouraging industry-wide collaboration, the release noted.
