Bucking the trend that most real estate firms are experiencing these days, Pete Cancilla, broker/owner of Image Realty in Arkansas, reports that his business is clocking at a record pace right now.
While Cancilla admits that his region has not experienced the dramatic effects of the economic downturn that other areas of the country have, he attributes his success to diligently and consistently connecting with consumers. One vehicle that facilitates this effort is the Lowe’s Program for REALTORS®.
Using the Lowe’s program for approximately two years now, Cancilla says it provides “an additional way for me to market myself and the company. It’s also a way for me to associate myself with a very good name. Being affiliated with Lowe’s gives me instant credibility.”
Through the Lowe’s Program for REALTORS®, Cancilla distributes a monthly e-newsletter, Inside Out, and Lowe’s discount periodic Project Starter coupons to roughly 2,000 clients and prospects, both of which provide tremendous value to recipients, he believes.

“Through the Lowe’s Program for REALTORS®, my clients have a great opportunity to receive discounts at Lowe’s for remodeling or other projects that help me sell their properties,” he explains. “It also gives me another way to contact people and gives me great credibility with these folks.”
The Inside Out e-newsletter, automatically sent to clients on the first of the month via e-mail, serves as an excellent resource for current and soon-to-be homeowners, according to Cancilla. Filled with ideas and tips for home improvement, the newsletter “gets their creative juices flowing,” he explains. “I always get positive feedback.”
The Lowe’s Program for REALTORS® also helps Cancilla stand apart from the competition. “No one else in my area has taken the time to do the research and figure out how to get involved with this program,” he explains. “This is something totally different from what everyone else is doing. Everyone gets enough junk mail…we don’t need more of that. This is putting something meaningful and useful in front of them each month.”
While the economy continues to struggle, Cancilla will stick with his approach for securing success: “Marketing tools like those from the Lowe’s Program for REALTORS® and a good work ethic will continue putting us above and beyond the competition.”
