Realogy Hosts Enrollment for the American Cancer Society’s Cancer Prevention Study-3

Realogy Holdings Corp., a global leader in real estate franchising and provider of real estate brokerage, relocation and settlement services, recently announced that it was the first company to host an open public enrollment for the American Cancer Society’s Cancer Prevention Study-3 (CPS-3). The enrollment at Realogy’s Parsippany headquarters was one of the American Cancer Society’s most successful, with 92 people volunteering to take part in the study.

The American Cancer Society’s ultimate goal of CPS-3 is to enroll 300,000 volunteers – men and women from various racial/ethnic backgrounds from across the U.S. – to better understand the lifestyle, environmental and genetic factors that cause or prevent cancer. The first CPS discovered the link between smoking and cancer, while CPS-2 discovered the link between obesity and cancer.

“Cancer is a word heard too often in our lives. That is why fighting back against this disease with our long-time partner, Realogy, was a once-in-a-generation opportunity for Northwest New Jersey residents,” says Robin Albers, regional vice president of the American Cancer Society. “Realogy is passionate about this community and committed to fighting cancer. They took on this challenge and stood apart from other corporations, Realogy’s dedication allowed everyone from all over the Garden State to get involved in this lifesaving cancer research.”

In 2012, The CEO Roundtable on Cancer accredited Realogy with the CEO Cancer Gold Standard™ recognizing its efforts to reduce the risk of cancer for their employees and covered family members by promoting healthy lifestyle choices, encouraging early detection through cancer screenings and ensuring access to quality treatment.

“Health and wellness is a priority at Realogy, which is evidenced by our employees’ positive response to the American Cancer Society’s call for volunteers, and we hope other companies will follow our lead,” says Dave Weaving, chief administrative officer, Realogy. “Thanks to the American Cancer Society, which has done a tremendous job organizing this study, we will most likely realize new and important discoveries to help us overcome this deadly disease.”
