Coldwell Banker Heroes’ Charitable Recognition Program Raises $4.7 Million for Local Charities

Coldwell Banker Heroes, the Coldwell Banker brand’s charitable recognition program, recorded donations of more than $4.7 million and 45,000 volunteer hours to local charities in its inaugural year. Coldwell Banker Heroes tracks the value of goods, services, dollars and time donated to charitable organizations by individual brokers, agents and staff affiliated with the Coldwell Banker global network.

“It is extremely gratifying to know that those in the Coldwell Banker system are so dedicated to giving back to their communities,” says Budge Huskey, president and chief executive officer, Coldwell Banker Real Estate LLC. “The Heroes program allows us to recognize so many of our brokers and agents who report on the countless charitable activities they are doing for so many deserving local organizations.”

Huskey cited recent highlights of charitable activities within the Coldwell Banker system:

Coldwell Banker All Points-Festival City (Stratford, Ontario) – Led by owners Donny Rivers & Pat Simons, the company has a culture of giving with 27 different charitable initiatives in 2012. Activities included multiple sponsorships and volunteering for local sports teams and events; Heart & Stroke fund-raiser, and a year-long weekly 50/50 draw with $1 per week per person donation to United Way.

Coldwell Banker Hunter Realty (Cleveland, Ohio) – Coldwell Banker Hunter Realty, under the ownership of Ed Dolinski, held various fundraising events throughout the year, raising upward of $75,000 for the Children’s Hospital at Cleveland Clinic.

Coldwell Banker Hearthside Realtors, Robert Weiss (Rockledge, Pa.) – Weiss, along with working as a real estate agent, is president of the Corvette Enthusiasts Community Foundation; Weiss’ fundraising efforts raised more than $25,000 for various causes such as the Sunshine Foundation and the Multiple Sclerosis Society.

Coldwell Banker Laricks Real Estate, Dustin Laricks (Sea Isle City, N.J.) – After company owner Laricks’ daughter was born with congenital diaphragmatic hernia, he founded Peyton’s Promise and raised $40,000 by sponsoring the annual Peyton’s Promise 5K Run and 2K Family Walk.

Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage, Tammy Adducci (Greenwood Village, Colo.) – Real estate agent Adducci raised more than $25,000 for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society during a 10-week fundraising campaign.

Coldwell Banker Residential Real Estate, Christina Griffin (Tampa, Fla.) – Griffin, one of the top agents in the Coldwell Banker system, is involved in dozens of charitable organizations in the Tampa Bay area raising funds (more than $30,000) and volunteering hundreds of hours for Pinellas Safe Harbor and Countryside Christian Center.

Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage, Cristina Markiewicz (Westlake Village, Calif.) – Markiewicz, a real estate agent, was the event chair for the first annual American Cancer Society Relay for Life at California Lutheran University and helped raised more than $41,000.

Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage, Kris Vogt (Sacramento, Calif.) – Vogt, president of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage Sacramento / Tahoe region, won “Man of the Year” for the Sacramento chapter of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society by running more than 24 consecutive hours and raising more than $108,000.

Coldwell Banker Rhodes & Company (Ottawa, Ontario) – The company, led by broker of record Jim McKeown, supports The Hospice at May Court, a community-based organization supporting families dealing with life-threatening illness. Through their fund-raising efforts, the company has raised a total of $135,000.

Coldwell Banker system members are able to report their charitable efforts by company, office and individual through a portal on the brand’s site.
