Great Spaces: Sarah Michelle Gellar and Her Prinze Scoop Up a $6.1 Million Colonial

Sarah_Michelle_Gellar_ColonialFormer vampire slayer Sarah Michelle Gellar and husband Freddie Prinze, Jr. have just acquired a three-story Colonial, located in the low-key Mandeville Canyon area of Los Angeles.

The acting duo’s gabled center hall Colonial clocks in at 7,318 square feet. It was built in 2006 and boasts six bedrooms and five bathrooms, sitting snugly on just over a third of an acre. Its double-height entrance hall is soaked in light, thanks to a cluster of crystal chandeliers. An over-sized formal dining room and a smaller-scaled library connect to a formal living room large enough to accommodate a baby grand piano and a sizable seating arrangement in front of a fireplace. Multi-pane windows and French doors stretch luxuriously from floor to ceiling and provide a wide view of the backyard entertainment and recreation areas.

Speaking of the backyard, it’s modest in size, but not in amenities and luxuries. A pergola-shaded flagstone terrace with retractable canvas awnings, a built-in barbecue/kitchenette, and lots of mature foliage can be found tucked behind the home. And don’t forget about that swimming pool and spa, also found behind the property.

A surprisingly casual, open-concept kitchen/family room is located behind the direct-entry, two-car garage. The roomy master bedroom has a vaulted ceiling, a sitting area with a fireplace, a large bathroom, and two sets of French doors that open to a small terrace with backyard overview.

Gellar can now be seen on the new CBS Robin Williams-driven sitcom, “The Crazy Ones,” while Prinze is directing and producing for…the WWE? Yeah, we don’t get it either.
