Reading Time: 2 mins read

“Here at MRIS, we have one of the most successful groups of real estate industry veterans who are deeply committed to understanding our customers and their needs,” says Jon Coile, MRIS Chairman of the Board. “With these new additions and changes, we are poised to further our mission of expanding MRIS’s footprint and delivering innovative products to help our real estate professionals be more productive.”

Vice Chairman Cindy Ariosa is the Senior Vice President Regional Manager of the Baltimore and Western Md. regions of Long & Foster, overseeing 38 offices across the state. During Ariosa’s illustrious career she has held numerous leadership positions at various state and national real estate industry organizations including; Greater Baltimore Board of REALTORS® President, Maryland Association of REALTORS® President and National Association of REALTORS® Large Firm Representative.

Ariosa has served on the MRIS Board since 2006 and previously held the role of Secretary. She succeeds industry veteran Gil Marsiglia, who served on the Executive Committee as Vice Chairman with enormous distinction and will remain on the Board of Directors for two more years.

Executive Vice President & CIO of McEnearney Associates, David Howell, is joining the Executive Committee as Secretary. Before joining McEnearney Associates in 1996, Howell was the Owner and Principal Broker of his own real estate company for 12 years. A recognized real estate industry leader, Howell was a founding member of MRIS’s Board of Directors, serving as Chairman in 1996-1997 and 2011-2012, and is currently a Board Member.

In addition to the Executive Committee changes, MRIS welcomes Mark Lowham and Sue Smith to its Board of Directors.

Lowham joined TTR Sotheby’s International Realty in January 2011 as Managing Partner, building further on his distinguished career as a widely recognized leader in the Washington real estate community. Prior to joining the firm, he served as Executive Vice President at WEST*GROUP, one of the region’s leading commercial real estate development firms. Lowham brings his corporate management, long‐term strategic planning and business development expertise to the MRIS Board and will serve as the Broker of Record.

Smith joins the MRIS Board as the Agent Representative and will act as a direct advocate for over 45,000 real estate professionals that MRIS serves.  Smith, a 27-year real estate veteran, is a highly respected and trusted agent with RE/MAX Premier in the Ashburn, Va. area. She currently serves on the Dulles Area Association of REALTORS® Board of Directors and previously served as President.

“We are excited about Cindy and David’s new roles and look forward to having them bring their solid expertise and insight to our Executive Committee,” says MRIS President & CEO David Charron. “Their guidance, along with the additions of Mark and Sue to the Board, will reinforce our already solid team of the industry’s most forward-thinking and customer-centric leaders.”

Pay Agents on Time, Every Time

Agents paid promptly report higher satisfaction, and brokerages with consistent payouts tend to retain agents longer and reduce costly turnover. Keep your agents happy.
