In 2025, deTonnancourt spearheaded a transformative expansion by welcoming four independent real estate brokerages into the HomeSmart family, a move that included the landmark launch of the firm’s dedicated commercial real estate division. Simultaneously, he secured the future of regional real estate expertise by acquiring a longstanding local real estate school. Under his guidance, the school’s operations were completely reinvented, introducing a modernized curriculum and new instructors to provide high-level pre-licensing and continuing education for the next generation of practitioners.

With a 36-year career as an active educator and industry leader, deTonnancourt remains a vital voice in the Rhode Island Association of Realtors®. His commitment to excellence was publicly recognized in 2025, with HomeSmart Professionals being named the top real estate company by the Providence Journal Community Choice Awards.
