A recent high school graduate, Delaney Philbrick wanted to follow in her father’s footprints and join her family’s real estate legacy. Philbrick graduated from Portsmouth High School five months early and quickly obtained her real estate license so she could begin working with her father—Dan Philbrick, broker/owner of Philbrick’s By the Sea and a REALTOR® for over 35 years—as a buyer’s agent.
Philbrick immersed herself in the family business at age 16, taking reservations for cottage rentals, helping to relay messages about long-term rentals or listings and having real estate signs printed in preparation of her future career. In addition, Delaney accompanied her father on home showings whenever she got the chance. Philbrick closed on her first transaction at the beginning of November.
“My dad has always told me, ‘If you do what you love, you’ll never work a day in your life,'” said Delaney.
