Jim Speer was instrumental in the formation of OneKey, the New York Metro area’s first regional multiple listing service (MLS), and serves as its CEO. The Hudson Gateway Association of REALTORS® (HGAR) and Long Island Board of REALTORS® (LIBOR) collaborated to create the MLS and announced the OneKey brand in October 2019. The 44,000-member MLS is positioned to be the most trusted source of real estate listings and data available to the entire New York metropolitan area.
Before OneKey was created, Manhattan real estate professionals were frustrated by the lack of one source that could provide up-to-date listing information. Manhattan had several independent systems, which meant that brokers often had inaccurate data and had to search multiple platforms to get a sense of the overall real estate landscape.
When announcing the OneKey brand, Speer said, “The new name is the product of the tremendous effort and collaboration that has been fostered between our REALTOR® leadership and the staff of HGAR and LIBOR. We are the one regional MLS that covers more territory with more listings, providing subscribers more ways to achieve success.”
Before taking on his current role, Speer served as senior vice president of operations at LIBOR’s Multiple Listing Service of Long Island. He played a pivotal role in its development and has been a leading force for MLS growth and productivity throughout his career.
