Joe Harris

As vice president of Government Agency at the National Association of REALTORS®, Joe Harris has a substantive understanding of the federal legislative process, with a keen sense of political discernment.

Throughout 2023, he assisted both Republican and Democratic members of Congress with securing bipartisan support for their respective legislative priorities, as well as cultivating a culture of bipartisan cooperation among NAR team members.

Harris is constantly looking for ways to bring members of Congress together, especially those who have not traditionally been active on real estate issues. He does so by keeping them apprised of the latest research, data and reports on various policy matters. In addition, Harris provides updates to both state and local associations, committees and affiliates on the latest NAR advocacy priorities.

Last year, Harris was able to secure an opportunity for the 2023 NAR president to testify before Congress on housing inventory and LLPAs, as well as securing members of Congress and Senators to speak at NAR events and policy forums throughout the year.
